Math Help Hour is a free, online weekend support session for students in Grades 7–12. There is no cost and no enrolment required to participate.
Students submit their questions in advance, and each question is addressed individually in a clear, step-by-step format. Although multiple students may attend, support is provided one at a time to ensure focused, personalized attention.
This session is ideal for students who want to:
Receive help with homework or school assignments
Clarify concepts that were unclear in class
Work through challenging problems
Strengthen problem-solving confidence
Sessions are structured to be efficient, supportive, and stress-free.
Format
The session runs within a scheduled one-hour time block.
Each student meets with the instructor in a private, one-on-one online call.
There are no group discussions or shared audio between students.
All communication is direct between the instructor and the student.
Limited Capacity
Space is limited each week to ensure quality and focus.
Students must confirm participation in advance.
Questions or materials must be submitted by Friday of each week.
Access links and session details are sent prior to the session.
Instructional Approach
A shared whiteboard is used to explain solutions clearly and step by step.
In many cases, solving one well-selected question can support broader understanding of the topic.
Students may raise their hand to engage with the question when appropriate.
Whiteboard work can be downloaded and saved as a PDF for future reference.
This structure ensures individualized support, professional organization, and a focused learning experience.
